✅What to do if the City&Guild (VWN) or NCFE (CECOS) online test will not start?

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide (updated May 2026)

  1. First, uninstall the old Secure Client from your Windows computer. This is the safest first step and helps avoid software conflicts.
  2. Next, download and install the latest version of Secure Client from the official website:
  3. If you are using an older laptop, you must also install the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries
  4. Finally, open the Secure Client. The online test should now start and run correctly. If problems occur, we highly recommend this up‑to‑date City & Guilds installation guide.
